June Minder Wilmot, 83, of Winchester/Frederick County, VA slipped peacefully into eternal life on October 18, 2020. Although June was a Virginian for a long time, she held Maine as her heart home, and “dear old Duke” as a memory home. I am deeply saddened to hear of June's passing. I worked with her at the Winchester Frederick County Economic Development Commission. She was instrumental in pushing my career forward and owe much of my success to her guidance. She continues to be an inspiration to me and I will always remember her.

To the family ~~ Please allow us to express our sympathy in the loss of June. We knew her through our son, Patrick Barker, and his family. She was a warm, accomplished and gracious lady. June will be long remembered.

To the Family and Friends of June. My deepest sympathy to you all. I got to know June thru the TVOR Dulcimer Ensemble (I'm one of the two "outlanders" in the group.) She was a lovely, intelligent, and accomplished lady. I did know of her exceptional dedication to the EDC, and I was always impressed how she used her many talents and experiences in leadership positions at TVOR. Our dulcimer group will certainly miss her quick wit and her strumming along with us. There will be an empty chair in our circle for June. Sincerely, Danna Doyle ?

It was my delight to know June, having met her at The Village at Orchard Ridge only a few months ago. We always had lots to talk about and she had a wonderful sense of humor and outlook on life.

A life well lived by a great lady! June was one of my first state professional contacts when I entered the field of economic development in Fairfax County, VA, in 1969. we were among the handful of people to help found and ultimately serve our beloved Virginia Economic Developers Association, the organization through which we kept in distant touch following our retirements. She will long be remembered for both her many diverse accomplishments and her love for former Washington Redskins (and Duke) Quarterback Sonny Jurgensen. You are much loved, June Bug!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

While I never knew Ms. Wilmot personally I held her in high esteem. The progress and growth she brought to Winchester/Frederick County during a time when growth was much needed should never be forgotten. Her knowledge and her art of seeking opportunities and bringing them to our area was immeasurable. I know she has already heard the words welcome home thy good and faithful servant. Thank you Ms. Wilmot for all you brought to our community.

June and The Colonel were generous enough to allow our son Will to live in their basement suite while he took flying lessons in Winchester. June was gracious enough to allow us to stay in her guest room one weekend when we came to visit. We became instant friends. She was such a delightful person; intelligent, warm, talented, and fun to be around. We feel blessed to have known her. I am happy she and Chuck are together again.
