June Hottle, 85 of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, peacefully at her son’s home.
June was born in 1938 in Bunker Hill, WV, the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucy Stillwell. She was a graduate of Musselman High School and she also graduated in 1996 from Lord Fairfax Community College with her associate degree in Business Management. She also received her LPN certification from the Winchester Memorial Hospital’s Nursing Program. June retired from the payroll department in 2003 from O’Sullivan’s. She attended Brucetown United Methodist Church and later became a member of Church of Christ at Mountain View. June enjoyed bowling, was part of a bowling league, and was also a member of TOPS. She enjoyed going on walks, watching game shows on TV, and doing word search puzzles. Most of all, June loved her family dearly.
She married Franklin Eugene Hottle in 1964 in Hagerstown, MD and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2006.
June is survived by her son, David Eugene Shirley, Jr. (Angie) of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, Shannon Rexrode (Jason) of Winchester, VA, Christa Puffinburger (Brett) of Lake Holiday, VA, Rachel Knupp of Hampshire County, WV and Eden, Devin and Bailey Shirley, all of Martinsburg, WV; great-grandchildren, Zoey Payne of Hampshire County, WV, Charlie See of Hampshire County, WV, Nya and Sayen Puffinburger all of Lake Holiday, VA and her sister, Betty Miller of Winchester, VA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Franklin, first husband, David Eugene Shirley, Sr. who passed away on August 22, 1962; granddaughter, Mykah Puffinburger; sister, Phyllis Fahnestock and her brother, Gene Stillwell, Sr.
A graveside service for June will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 2pm at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2833 Green Spring Road, Winchester, VA 22603. Pastor David Whitacre will be officiating.
