Julia DeHaven Snyder
Julia DeHaven Snyder, 84, of Winchester, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Easter Sunday in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Snyder was born in 1925 in Clearbrook, Virginia, the daughter of the late Peter A. and Virginia DeHaven. She was former manager of Hallmark Card Store in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Snyder was a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church in Winchester, the local Garden Club and several local bowling leagues. She was a devoted Wife Mother and Grandmother who loved her family and gardening. She was a graduate of John Handley High School and attended Madison College.
She married Cecil Ward Snyder on September 29, 1946 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are her daughters, Linda Snyder Butler and husband, Harry W. Butler, III, of Nokesville, Virginia, Stephany Snyder Wisecarver and husband, Lewis, of Winchester, Virginia; five grandchildren, Melissa Gobbi of Kerala, India, Scott Gobbi and wife, Katie, of Richmond, Virginia, Shanda Walston, Isaiah Walston, and Rami Walston all of Winchester, Virginia; her sister Esther Chrismore of Modesto, California; and brother, Marshall “Peachie” DeHaven of Winchester, Virginia.
Four sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Colleen Beavers, Katherine Gano, Anna Marie Baker and two brothers, Wayne DeHaven and Charles “Chick” DeHaven preceded her in death.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend James A. Hewitt and Reverend Tony Layman officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
