With heavy hearts, we share the passing of a truly loving, kind and caring mama, nana, and friend whose warmth touched everyone she met. Her life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

Judy Ann (Snedden) Stewart, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.

She was born in Uniontown, PA, daughter to Harry and Hazel Snedden.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John W. Stewart, whose kindness, generosity, and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. They were married for 21 years until his passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was also preceded in death by her sister, Lynne Grove and her brother, Richard Snedden.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Kristi (Stewart) Sanders and son-in-law, Eric, of Charles Town, WV; her two beautiful grandchildren Aubrey Grace and Greyson John, the absolute joys of her life. Also surviving is her special friend, Anton Grigorescu, whose companionship brought her comfort and happiness every day that they spent together over the last 7 years.

As a devoted mama to Kristi, Judy poured her entire heart into raising her with kindness, patience, and unconditional love. She was her greatest supporter, safe place, and guiding light through every stage of life. She celebrated every success, supported her through the hard times, and created a lifetime of cherished memories filled with laughter and love. Judy felt at peace knowing that Kristi and Eric built a loving family together.

Becoming a nana brought her a special kind of joy. Aubrey and Greyson were truly her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment with them. From warm hugs and gentle reassurance to laughter-filled days and meaningful traditions, she adored her grandchildren and filled their lives with love and memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Her gentle spirit and generous nature extended far beyond her family. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether through a simple conversation, a warm smile, or a helping hand, she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

As a member of the Church of Christ, her compassion and quiet strength were reflected in her daily life and the way she cared for others, always offering kindness, a listening ear, or a helping hand. Her presence brought comfort, her smile brought peace, and her love brought people together.

Her dedicated work history spanned over 45 years, including the Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon in Washington DC, and later the insurance, real estate and banking industries of Uniontown, PA. She carried her strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment into every role.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Judy will be remembered for her strength, her selflessness, and the love that she gave so freely. She will be forever loved and always remembered by her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Our family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Hospice of the Panhandle. Thank you for the loving care you provided for my mom in her final days. We love you and appreciate everything you do.

A private memorial service will be planned to celebrate Judy’s life.
