Judith J. Cosby, 79, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Winchester Medical Center.
Judith was born in 1939, in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of the late Samuel and Myrtle Jordan. She was an administrative assistant for a variety of defense contractors and worked for many years at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. Judith was a member of the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at the Strasburg Museum and Library, she enjoyed going antiquing and loved Dalmatian dogs. She had a love for horses and enjoyed watching all the derby races. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and was always able to make everyone feel special. She never forgot an anniversary, birthday or special event. She enjoyed music and had a love for the piano which she also enjoyed playing.
Her husband, William A. Cosby whom she married on January 23, 1965 in Washington, DC preceded her in death in 2008.
Surviving are a daughter, Tammy L. Ugarte (Juan); two sons, Brandon D. Cosby, (Victoria) and Richard Cosby; granddaughters, Farrah A. Cosby, Julia V. Cosby and Lindsay M. Cosby.
Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by brothers William Everett Jordan, Samuel Edward Jordan, Billie Carroll Jordan, David Wendell Jordan, Donald Allen Jordan, Alfred Verrell Jordan, James Howard Jordan, Robert Eugene Jordan, and sisters, Minnie “Sis” Eileen Turanchick, Reba Hope Kataryniak, and Carolyn Jeanette Peltier.
Mrs. Judith J. Cosby requested cremation and a celebration of her life is planned for Mother’s Day weekend. Additional details for the celebration will be available from the family.
