Juanita “Neda” V. Strosnider
Juanita “Neda” Vincent Strosnider, 87, of Stephens City, Virginia, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center, Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Strosnider was born in 1926, in Elicott City, Maryland, the daughter of the late Giles W. and Jessie Vincent. She was a graduate of Stephens City High School. Mrs. Strosnider worked for the Frederick County Public School System as a cafeteria worker retiring after 21 years of service. She was a member of Valley Assembly of God. She loved working with flowers, cooking and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Juanita was known to her grandchildren as “Neda” and her great grandchildren as “Nanny”. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, wonderful caregiver and will be missed greatly by all her family and friends.
She married Paul Harrison Strosnider on September 7, 1945, in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2012.
Surviving is her son, P. Gary Strosnider and wife, Vickie, of Maurertown, Virginia; daughter, Bonnie S. Cox and husband, Mike, of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Tealah Bryant, Tarah Wilson, Veronica Zimmerman, Jeffrey Strosnider, Tashah Davis; great grandchildren, Lindsay Bryant, Lauren Wilson, Sierra Strosnider, Sterling Zimmerman, Lance Bryant, Tyler Strosnider, Landon and Sophia Zimmerman; and her sisters, June DeHaven of White Post, Virginia and Nevaline Strosnider of Stephens City, Virginia.
One sister, Betty Anderson and brother, Maurice Vincent, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Strosnider, Mike Cox, Leon Strosnider, Jake Strosnider, Brandon Strosnider, Frank Smoot.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia 22602.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Reverend Glenn Welch officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
