Juanita “Neet” Saville Newlin Belt, 97, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Hilltop House Senior Living Community.
Mrs. Belt was born in 1919 in Hampshire County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Wardie G. and Pearl H. Saville. She graduated from Romney High School and was Valedictorian of her senior class. Mrs. Belt retired from National Fruit Product Company, Inc/White House Foods after 39 years of service. She was a past member of the Disabled American Veterans and co-chairman of the Fresh Air Fund. Mrs. Belt was a member of First Baptist Church in Winchester, where she was the oldest active member and part of Mission Friends at the church. She loved gardening, crocheting, flying and was a great co-pilot, and always looked forward to Sunday dinners with her family because she loved to cook and spending time with them.
Mrs. Belt married Arthur A. Belt on April 8, 1989 at First Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia. Her first husband, Paul R. Newlin preceded her in death on September 19, 1981.
Surviving are daughters, Janet N. Luttrell and husband, Phil and Joyce N. Newcome and husband, Phil both of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Michael S. and Tyler K. Newcome and Allyson L. Luttrell; great grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, and Wyatt Newcome; and brothers, Willard Saville of East Windsor, Connecticut and Richard Saville of Frederick, Maryland.
Mrs. Belt was preceded in death by a sister, Madalyn Iser, and brothers, Carl, Allean, and Junior Saville.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday at First Baptist Church, 205 W. Piccadilly Street, Winchester, Virginia with Reverend Kristin Adkins Whitesides officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
