Joyce Lynn Stewart, a resident of Winchester, passed away at home in the loving company of her family on January 24, 2016.
She was born in Ottawa, Illinois, on March 20, 1946, and was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Todd. Joyce graduated from Marquette High School in Ottawa in 1964. She married Martin F. Stewart, also of Ottawa, on January 7, 1967, and accompanied Martin to several Military Postings at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Germany, and Khartoum Sudan.
Surviving with her husband is two children, a son, Bradley J. Stewart and his wife, Iulia, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, daughter, Brenda J. Stewart Khan and her husband, Noorul Khan, of Linden, Virginia, eight grandchildren, Alexis and Auston Stewart of Norfolk Virginia, John and Montgomery Stewart of Chicago, Illinois, and Ahmed Khan, Omar Khan, Osman Khan, and Anisa Khan of Linden, Virginia. Also surviving are two brothers, Steve Todd of Morton, Illinois, and Donald Todd of Panama City Beach, Florida, both of whom were at her side upon her passing.
Joyce journeyed through life with a huge Smile and a deep love for her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA 22602.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9702 Gayton Road, Suite 110, Richmond, Virginia 23238 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601. Anyone choosing to send floral tributes, the family suggests that they be potted plants or dish gardens.
