Joyce Ann Fristoe
Joyce Ann Kellison Fristoe, age 78, of Capon Bridge, West Virginia, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Joyce was born in 1935, the daughter of the late Garland E. and Josephine S. Kellison. She was a graduate of Luray High School and worked as Payroll Administrator for Perry Engineering, retiring in 2005 after 29 years of service. During her lifetime, Joyce was able to enjoy living and traveling with her family throughout United States and Europe.
Joyce enjoyed yard sales and had a passion for flowers and gardening. She was most proud of her children and often said they were her greatest accomplishment.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Athena Fristoe Dresti (Mauro) of Pomona, California, Katrina Fristoe Clevenger (Dennis) and Shawna Fristoe Wright (Christopher), of Frederick County, Virginia; her sons, Emory Garland Fristoe (Christine) of Aldie, Virginia and Col. Jonathan Curtis Fristoe (Col. Karrie Fristoe) of the U.S. Army, San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren and two step grandchildren; sister, Marlene Kellison Frye of Luray, Virginia; and Joyce’s companion of many years, Hubert “Jack” Vencill of Capon Bridge, West Virginia.
Preceding Joyce in death are a daughter, Ramona Lee Fristoe and a brother, Richard Burton “Sonny” Kellison.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Evangelist Doug Hardeman officiating. Entombment will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Clevenger, Mauro Dresti, Christopher Wright, Joshua Starnes, Joseph Starnes, and Michael Dujsik. Honorary Pallbearer will be Andrew Jonathan Fristoe.
