So sad to hear of the loss of a super sweet , kind and smart young man! I had not spoken to family for years sadly (even though I missed them) . Please accept our sincere condolences. I wish I had seen or talked to him over time as I thought he was an amazing young man! I am so sad for Bj and his dad for a never ending pain of loss.

He was the smartest person I knew. He lived his life his way. Out of the box...a road not taken. I cherished our talks. We can all learn a lesson from the way Joe lived. You will always be in my heart. God bless you Joe. BJ you raised a good man. Hold on to that. I love you. My sympathy to your family and his friends

I am so heartbroken to learn of Joe's passing. I didn't know him well, but he was a brother to my brother, Michael Jacobs. Joe had a kind and generous heart, and a great sense of humor. He was a very hard worker. Joe was always there for my brother. Joe and Michael had taken a road trip in 2013, and they stopped at my home in North Carolina. They helped me dismantle some computers, and I was honored that they visited me. This photo is of that trip. It's really hard for me to think about my brother living without you. We miss you and we love you, Joe!

I am so very sorry to hear this news. I remember Joseph from elementary school. He was always so sweet and had the kindest smile. The memories that stick out most in my mind were his birthday parties. I remember one being in the caboose at Mc Donald’s and the EPIC party with the hot air ballon rides. He truly had a special way about him. He will be greatly missed.

Dearest BJ- no mother should have her child taken from her this way. Joe lives on in your heart and memories just as his dad and your parents do. All of them beloved- as you yourself are. You have my deepest condolences on your loss.

I’m so sad to learn of Joe’s untimely death. We only had a few occasions to be together but I always enjoyed his humor and his inquiring mind. He interviewed me once for the Handley paper and we had a good philosophical chat. He has a wonderful family. Deep peace to all who loved him.

My heart and prayers go out to all of Joe's family and friends. This really breaks my heart. I worked with Joe on the same team at Navy Federal for a few years. We sat next to each other for some of that time. You could not meet a more kind, thoughtful, intelligent, fun person than Joe. RIP Joe. Keep on dancing! ? ? Suzy
