Joseph Horace Burnham, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Frederick on September 9, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leona Krebeck Burnham; his three daughters: Terry, Kim, and Kathy; son-in-laws, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Joe was born in Sandersville, GA and predeceased by his parents; Joseph Horace Burnham, Sr and Sarah Adams Burnham. He is also survived by his younger brother Clint and his wife, Barbara. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends who lovingly remember his gift for telling a great story.

As a veteran of the US Army, Joe very much enjoyed being stationed in Colorado. Joe was a long time employee of Washington DC companies in the road construction business and ended his career running a small safety equipment business with his wife, Leona.

Joe loved hunting and fishing in his younger years but his more recent favorite past time was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. He loved spending his last few years surrounded by family sharing stories and memories.

A private Celebration of Life for Joe will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph H. Burnham, Jr.’s name to: Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601
