Joseph Edward Scollick
Joseph Edward Scollick, 89, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away, Monday, November 22, 2010 in City Hospital, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Mr. Scollick was born in 1920 in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the son of the late William Edward and Susan A. Scollick. He previously worked as a car lot manager for Lustin Chevrolet, was the owner of Ashley Wood Stoves & Anderson Windows, as well as a farmer. Mr. Scollick was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
He married Helen Agnes Birckhead on December 24, 1941 in Washington, D.C.
Surviving with his wife of sixty-eight years: is two daughters, Kathaleen Grimes of York, Pennsylvania and Jane Kerns of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Michael Coale, Amy McBee, Michelle Gonnall, Justin Hoffman, Tyson Hoffman, Sara Kerns and Jesse Kerns; nine great grandchildren, Kiarra, Ashlyn, Cody, Ryan, Alexander, Joseph, Mary, Helen, and Nurai; and a brother, William “Bill” Scollick of St. Marys, Maryland.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Military Honors by VFW Post 2123.
Pallbearers will be Michael Lee Coale, Justin Darrell Hoffman, Warren Hepner, Brian Hepner, Cody Scott McBee, and Jesse Benjamin Kerns.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
