Joseph Dalton Rudolph, 72, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center after a long illness.
Joe was born in Winchester on February 10, 1951 to parents Esten and Jane Rudolph. He graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, Joe tried working different jobs until finding a job as dispatcher and corrections officer at Frederick County Sheriff’s Office where he stayed for 5 years. Upon becoming a master electrician in the late 70’s, he opened Rudolph’s Electric Service. He served the Winchester area and surrounding communities for over 50 years. Joe was known for being fair and always reliable. Most didn’t know, Joe was an accomplished saxophone player, using his music to worship and praise God.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Selina, they missed their anniversary by 30 days, unfortunately September 25 didn’t’ come fast enough. Joe is also survived by his sons, Chad Rudolph and Jeremy Rudolph who was injured in a car accident in 2000 and was left disabled and needing constant care and 2 brothers, Esten Rudolph, III and David M. Rudolph.
For the last 23 years, Joe readily proved the very definition of fatherhood, having no limits for the love and care of his son, Jeremy who was his first priority.
