What a gentle, kind man. I loved many evenings sitting around the campfire we made between the Archibald's house and the Winters' house. Love you neighbor....

Although I knew John, it seems, from the time we were born, one of my most vivid memories is of our first day in first grade. It was traumatic for both of us! He was such a good friend throughout our years in Mannington Elementary, Junior High, and High School. I have wonderful memories of the parties held regularly in the basement of his home, and endured by his supportive parents. Juanita, please know that my prayers are with you and your family. I would be at the gathering tonight were I at home in Virginia, but I am away. Heaven just received a very special man.
Tim Boyd left a message on October 2, 2018:
It's hard to eulogize my memories of Uncle John, to put into words not only the moments and the times of his life, but to get to the heart who of he truly was. His ups and downs, his joys and sorrows. To truly realize the person that John was. He has accomplished so much in life. A life the can be looked at with love and affection by his family, a life that can be admired by those who know him, a life that was in service to his community as he helped so many. Thank you Uncle John. May his soul Rest in peace with the Lord above.

Juanita, My heart goes out to you and your family in this difficult time. Please accept our deepest condolences from Bev and myself. Although we drifted in later years, John an I could pick up a conversation where we left off and finish each other’s sentences. I will always cherish our friendship.

The Bible gives us the wonderful prospect of seeing our loved ones again on a paradise earth. At Psalms 37:9-11 & 29, it gives us the hope of living forever on a paradise earth. It will be a time when Isaiah 33:24 will take place and “no resident will say ‘I am sick.” On this paradise earth, Rev. 21:4 promises us that “death will be no more.” I know this may not relieve your deep grief at this time, but please take faith in God’s promises.
