John W. Archibald, 69, of Cross Junction, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2018 in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Archibald was born in 1948 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late Wilda (Childs) Archibald and John W. Archibald, Sr. He was a graduate of Mannington High School and received his Bachelor degrees in Pharmacy, Agriculture and Chemistry from West Virginia University. John retired in 2015 after 43 years as a pharmacist; the last 15 years with the Free Medical Clinic of Winchester. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as flying, motorcycling, and Scuba diving and could often be found tinkering in his workshop.
John married Juanita Boyd on September 29, 1967 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, John is survived by a daughter, Beth Ann Martin (Robert) of Fairfax, Virginia; two grandchildren, Angela Belle Martin and Amanda Christine Martin, both of Fairfax, Virginia; a sister, Sue Claire Johnson (Charlie) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and many dear friends and extended family.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville for their excellent care.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps, Amherst Chapel.
