JOHN STEPHEN MCCRARY
John Stephen McCrary, age 64 passed away Dec 15, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center. He was an avid fisherman who loved his family. Born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1947 he loved to play baseball as a child and played in the 3-2 League. He was a member of the Kansas City Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and grew up attending summer camps with his friends. He attended Southwest High School in Kansas City and went on to college at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Even now, he still kept in touch with his lifelong school friends. He worked for The Wrigley Company in Chicago and retired after 18 years. His new job took him to Houston, Texas working for Grocery Supply Company of Sulphur Springs beginning in 1985. After many years and many great friends he left Grocery Supply to work with his wife in their own business, All Store Marketing Services, Inc of Greenville, Texas. After many successful years, the business was sold and his family decided to retire in the Winchester area of the Shenandoah Valley where he would meet his next fishing buddy, Jerry Frank of Bluemont. Retirement didn’t last long so he became the financial mind of The Final Yard of Winchester where he found himself working with a lot of women. For companionship, the family got him a dog named Ely, the only other male in the household and workplace. When he wasn’t visiting with the babies that frequent the store, he enjoyed days fishing with Jerry. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father William (Bill) Stephen McCrary of Cassville, MO.
