John was V.P. of Sales when I began my career at GSC over 20 years ago and I can to this day remeber encouraging words he gave me along the way. I can also remember very vividly the first company Christmas party hosted at the big house on Park St. in Greenville. Thanks for the memories John! Larry Lane-Terrell, Tx

What a bright shining light John was - he has left a whole in the world. He was generous, kind, funny and so warm and welcoming. You were his friend the minute you met him. My dad, Jerry's, life was changed by him and he will never be the same - in a very good way. He left the world a better place and is now himself in the best place - enjoying the great fish fry in the sky with the greatest fisherman of all. Much love to the whole McCrary family. xoxo-Stacy Harrell

I so enjoyed the times I spent at John and Darla's house every time I came to Virginia to visit Colby and Lariana and the kids. He was the most gracious host and no matter how bad he was feeling he always made sure I felt at home in their house. Absolutely the barbeque king too. He was wonderful to visit with and you could tell how much he loved his home and family. It's hard to imagine going to Virginia next time and John not being there. He will be sorely missed, even by those who rarely saw him. He is a man you don't forget.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I'm so very sorry........ Working for Grocery Supply Company, we all become family and John was a part of our family. Like others, I didn't talk to him often, but he always knew his extended family was thinking about him. We will pray that God brings peace and comfort to Darla, Elizabeth, the boys and all the family. Lori Ray

John was our hero at The Final Yard. He could and did take care of all the girls. He always had a smile and a tease or two. He will truly be missed. Pat

Darla, So sad to read about John. Today's paper told of another Park Street family memeber loss. Bill Thomas. I always think about you and John when I drive by the old Bland home place. We sure got a nice replacement with the Lennox family. Know John will always be with you with all the wonderful memories. Renee Shelton

John was a rare individual. if you were friends with John, you were friends for life. We did not see each other for many years but were blessed to spend time with John and Darla over the past few years. Getting back with them after many years was just like we saw each other yesterday. Spending time with John and Darla showed me that Darla made John complete, how he loved that lady! John was a gentleman and a man of integrity and one of the best friends I have ever had! We love the McCrary family and are praying for all of you. May you be blessed with God's strength, peace and comfort. With our love, Pat & Cindy Melvin

Always so friendly and up-beat! His terrific personality continues in Heaven! And someday you will be reunited with him to enjoy him forever!! Love, Jan, Dan Copeland and Emily Burke!
