John Russell Howell-Stiefvater, 53 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

John was born in 1972 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late John and Theresa Stiefvater. He spent his career as owner and massage therapist. John was a fan and collector of Olivia Newton-John memorabilia and a horror movie buff, especially the movie Jaws.

He is survived by his husband, Seth Thomas Howell-Stiefvater whom he married on October 31, 2015; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Legions of Crestview, FL; sons, Michael Ray Howell of Crestview, FL and Benjamin Joseph Howell of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Parker Legions and Finnegan Howell and his sisters, Michelle Stiefvater Perrone of Stephens City, VA, and Deborah Dupuis of Florida.

Services will be private
