A life long achiever in academics, sports(Basketball/Golf) and in the judicial community. A respected 1965 VMI BR who is remembered as one of our low key , always competitive , way smarter Classmates that played a roll in the 1964 defeat of Davidson in the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament . Over the past 60 years, we found time to stay in touch either by phone calls or attending a basketball game where we enhance our memories of our VMI basketball seasons ; or at the Annual Keydet Club Golf outing where John was always , one of the sought after golfers to join your four-some(ringers always were welcomed ). An all-round nice guy that was a great humble listener. Rest in peace Jeff Gausepohl (VMI 65)

My sincerest condolences to Shirley, Reed, Tracy and family. John (the Judge) was a local icon. He was an athlete, a military guy, a huge staple in our local judicial system, a community minded individual, and a family man. The Winchester community was blessed to have John Prosser as one of its own. He has traded his gavel for a pair of wings. -Paul W. Dick, Frederick County
