John Michael McIntyre

John Michael McIntyre, age 63, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center. Mr. McIntyre was born in 1948 in Gainesville, Illinois, the son of Betty Ann McIntyre of Connersville, Indiana, and the late Charles Porter McIntyre. He was a mechanic with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant in 1990. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star and 37 other medals. He was previously married to Alma McIntyre of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Surviving with his mother and previous wife are two daughters: Jennifer Lynn Yarbrough and husband, Joel of Singapore and Sara Jane Racette of Edgewater, Maryland; a son, Charles Aaron McIntyre and wife Katharine of Front Royal, Virginia; five grandchildren: Zoe Alana Racette, Kelsey Rayne Racette, Katherine Madison Yarbrough, Isabel Laine Yarbrough, and Sophie Clara McIntyre; two sisters, Connie Hansell of Union, Ohio and Bonnie Gardiner of Connersville, Indiana, and one brother, Allen Wayne McIntyre of Connersville, Indiana.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
