John (Pete) Levi, Jr., age 83, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home.

Pete was born on August 13, 1940, in Berryville, VA, the son of the late John A. Levi and Ernestine Willingham Levi. Pete was employed at Scheuers Clothing Store in Berryville for 27 years until it closed in 1985 and then ended his working career as a a rural mail carrier.

Pete is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Easter Levi. They were married on October 23, 1973. Two sons, Samuel M. Levi (Joanna) of Berryville, VA, Kevin B. Levi (Teresa) of Winchester, VA; daughter-in-law, Betty Levi; his beautiful granddaughter, Emily L. Hardesty (Doug); two precious great-grandsons, Cooper and Declan of Riverview, FL; sister, Nan O’Brien (Jim) of Berryville, VA; three nieces, one nephew and several cousins; godson, Mason Levi Keatts; one special aunt, Doris Easter of Amelia, VA; and his furry companion, his black cat, Thomas J.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sons, John Michael Levi and Dwain Edward Levi.

Pete graduated from Clarke County High School. He was an avid football fan and helped establish the Clarke County Little League Football Association on which he served as a coach and referee. He was inducted into the Clarke County High School Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Pete was a former member of the John H. Enders Fire Co., Enders Rescue Squad and Berryville/Clarke County Jaycees.

A visitation will be held for Pete on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2pm with a service to follow at 3pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville. Pastor Alan Morrison will officiate.
