John L. Fletcher, Sr.
John Leroy Fletcher, Sr., 81, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Fletcher was born in 1931, in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Clarence and Florence Fletcher. He was a Salesperson with C. I. Brumback, for over 20 years, as a parts department manager and Shade Equipment for 2 years before retiring. He was a member of Burnt Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Mended Hearts, and Friendship Fire Company for many years. Mr. Fletcher loved hunting, fishing and going to shooting matches as well as gardening. Mr. Fletcher was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1952.
He married Dorothy Broy on November 7, 1954, in Frederick County, Virignia.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Laura F. Geisen and husband, Billy, of South Riding, Virginia, son, John L. Fletcher, Jr., and wife, Kathy, of Cross Junction, Virginia; three grandchildren, Megan F. Westenmeyer, Mike Fletcher, Bridget Geisen; two great grandchildren Tanner Fletcher, Parker Fletcher; and his sister, Mary Campbell of Stephens City, Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Patrick Lanaghan officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Patton, Patrick Campbell, John Fletcher, Mike Fletcher, Dustin Westenmeyer and Billy Geisen.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
