Celebration of Life

John Joseph Golden, Jr., 80, of Linden, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

John was born in New Milford, CT, the son of the late John Joseph Golden, Sr. and Anne Monroe (Hope) Golden. He earned his bachelor’s degree from MIT, class of 1965, and spent his professional life working as an IT executive. John was passionate about raising funds for his alma mater and in 2020 received the prestigious Bronze Beaver Award from the MIT Alumni Association.

John was an avid golfer, sports fan, dog lover, and voracious reader who cherished time with his friends and family. John made a lasting impact on all those he crossed paths with and was well loved and respected.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ethel; sons, John Joseph Golden III of CO, Matthew Benjamin Golden of MA, and Michael Joseph O’Neill, Jr. of VA; daughters, Elizabeth Susan Golden and her spouse Evelyn Oquendo of MA, Jennifer Leigh Caracoglia and her spouse Michael of NH, and his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for John will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11am at St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, MA.
