John E. “Stautz” “Johnny” Stautzenbach, 52, of Winchester, passed away June 7, 2021 at the Winchester Medical Center.

John was born October 10, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA the son of the late Mark S. Stautzenbach and Barbara (Jenkins) Stautzenbach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and achieved his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University where he is a lifelong member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. John worked as a Business Consultant in Advertising and was a member of the NRA and the Military Officer’s Association. He enjoyed bee keeping, golfing and was a huge WVU Mountaineers fan. He was known as the “Mayor of Babbs Mountain” and he loved spending time with family and friends.

John married Kimberly A. Couls on October 3, 1992 in Martinsburg, WV.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his father in law John Couls.

Along with his wife Kimberly, John is also survived by his daughter Brooke T. Stautzenbach; two sons Zachary E. and Adam J. Stautzenbach; sister Mary Villanova; brother Luke Stautzenbach (Sherry); mother in law Sharon Marpole; stepmother Beverly Stautzenbach; step sisters Barbara Miller and Karen Borch (Eric); sister in laws Stephanie Jackson (Michael) and Leslie Bohrer (Tony); and also survived by his loving nieces, nephews and his two dogs Sophie and Charlie.

All services are private. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for family and friends in the near future.

John was my roommate freshman year at WVU. Many great memories created in Morgantown. My deepest condolences to Kim and the kids family and friends who knew John.

My deepest condolences to Kim and to the entire family. I was John's roommate freshman year at WVU. John was full of energy and life. He was always on the move and loved to stay up late (while I was trying to sleep) and play some music and keep up on his studies. He was always a bundle of sunshine and positive about all things. He used to love to listen to "I've had the time of my life", when I say love he played it probably 30 times a day. I think that summarizes John's approach to life even back then. He was a great man and will be missed by so many. Just learned of this and very saddened.... Hang in there Kim....

Rest in Peace, John. I know you will be watching over us all now. I can see you taking charge and getting things squared away up in heaven. Semper Fi, brother. Kim, my heart goes out to you and the kids, there will never be another,, John was truly one of a kind, as you know. God bless you all and take care in this difficult time.

Very sorry to hear about John's passing. We were SigEp brothers many many years ago, yet I always remembered him. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. This is very sad to hear.

So sorry for your loss. He was such a kind man and I will forever be grateful for all he helped me with in my career. Could not ask for a better person!!! Kim you are in my thoughts and prayers.
