John James Jacob, Sr., 81, of Winchester, VA passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Heritage Hall Senior Living, Leesburg, VA.

Mr. Jacob was born in 1939 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late John and Mary Jacob. He graduated from Tridelphia High School in Elm Grove, WV and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Jacob was a retired Master Electrician with the Local Union 26. He was an avid Redskins fan and a member and elder of Word of Life International Church in Sterling, VA. Mr. Jacob was strong in his Christian faith and lived an exemplary life. He loved his family and always looked forward to seeing his grandchildren.

He married Amy Sue White on July 22, 1961 in Martins Ferry, OH.

Surviving with his loving wife of 59 years is a daughter, Marty Mullins (Keith) of Middletown, VA; sons, Jeffrey Jacob (Cheryl), Joseph Jacob (Vilma), and John Jacob, Jr. (Lynette) all of Leesburg, VA; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Mae Jacob of Wheeling, WV.

Along with his parents, Mr. Jacob was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Jane Crews.

A visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 pm with son, Jeff Jacob officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jake’s memory to Hearts for the Harvest at www.heartsforharvest.org

I just heard of the passing of my sweet cousin John. I have so many wonderful memories of him. He never failed to encourage me through hard times, and to be the rock we all needed. I love and miss you, John, and will see you again one day.

Such a touching service, Jeff. What a life well lived in the presence of God. Love you all. Praying for you all. Hugs.

We are blessed to hear so many beautiful stories of his life. It was always a blessing to be around him and to see his legacy in the lives that he influenced. May God's comfort and grace be upon all the family and friends of this honorable Christ follower.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember John so well from seeing him at Word of Life International Church. He helped the Church so much with his electrical and other technical skills, but also as a leader. He is home now with His Heavenly Father and Savior. A true measure of a father is seen by the quality of the children he nurtures, teaches, and raises. Based on this simple measure, Mr Jacob is and always be a GREAT Man! Rest In Peace Sir - you have earned your golden cloak next to the Lord!

My dearest Amy and family I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and all the family. Dave and I are moving Friday and Saturday and will unfortunately not be able to attend the funeral. We have to be out of our home by Jan. 31. We will be thinking of you.
