Dudley Howard left a message on April 25, 2013:
I am sad to hear of John's passing. My condolences go out to Sara and his family. I counted John as one of my best friends; one who i always knew i could depend on being honest with me. John and I worked together at VDOT and I soon found that he was one of a kind. I will miss John and will always cherish the memories of him at work and away from work. My heart goes out to Sara and I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless You. Be at peace my old Friend John. I will miss you; but i have many fond memories to remember you by. Dudley J. Howard, Sr.
Lacy and Mary Ann Vaughn left a message on April 26, 2013:
We both wish to extend our deepest sympathy to John's family. We will certainly miss seeing his big red truck go by our house, his wave and his smile. He would often stop, if we were outside, and say hi and ask my husband if he had been fishing lately. I know that he will be missed by our entire circle. May you all find comfort in found memories of John. With thoughts and prayers for comfort at this time. Lacy and Mary Ann
