John E. “Johnnie” Croson, Jr.
John Elmer “Johnnie” Croson, Jr. 63, of Reedville, Virginia, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in his home.
Mr. Croson was born in 1947, in Arlington, Virginia, the son of John Elmer Croson, Sr. and the late Norma May Croson. He was a self employed carpenter and attended New Friendship Baptist Church in Reedville, Virginia.
He married Crystal Lee See on February 23, 2006 in Luray, Virginia.
Surviving are two daughters, Jamie Croson–Phillips of Alabama, Christiane Croson Belew of Scottsville, Virginia; step-daughter, Christina “Tina” Baker of New Jersey; two step-sons, Aaron Scott Baker of Berryville, Virginia and Dustin Matthew Baker of Front Royal, Virginia; five grandchildren, Torrie Delane Phillips, Christopher Nicholas Phillips, Damien Merritt Belew, Victoria Lauren Patience Belew and Dayton William Hedges Pittman; and five brothers, Donald Walter “Doni” Croson of Winchester, Virginia, Dickie Croson, Robert Croson and Randy Croson all of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Jay Croson of Berryville, Virginia. One daughter Amanda “Lauren” Croson and one brother, Frankie Croson, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor John Minter officiating, Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
