John De Meo
John De Meo, age 87, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at his home.
Mr. De Meo was born in 1922, in Flushing, Queens, New York, the son of the late Dominic and Elizabeth G. De Meo. He was an executive salesman for Peter Pan Co. and Warners of New York City, NY. Upon retiring in 1986, he and his wife moved to Winchester. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a Tech Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp. He flew 30 missions in the Flying Fortress B-17 over occupied territory, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Nelson De Meo, whom he married on December 4, 1965, in New York City, NY.
He is the last living member of his family. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
A private service will be held at a later date.
