Devin Ray, Winchester Rescue Mission left a message on July 21, 2020:
John will be greatly missed. He had an incredible love for the Lord and loved sharing the Word. I first came to know him when I was a resident at the Mission, then later had many in depth conversations with him during my employment at the Mission. While many people try to teach the Word, John actually taught and lived the word. He is one of the most sincere persons I have ever met. My condolences to the family.

Pastor Steve Rebert left a message on July 17, 2020:
Occasionally in this life the Lord graciously brings into our lives folks who steady you, better you, not only an individual but as a Christian. They ask nothing but to minister and allow themselves the opportunity to serve. There is no estimation that can be put on their worth nor can they be replaced because of their uniqueness. As the Pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church family we say goodbye to someone who probably should’ve been esteemed much more among us. But our hearts are lifted when we realize he stands at Heaven’s Gate waiting for us - until then brother John until then!
