John B. “Jack” Schimmel
John Bunker “Jack” Schimmel, 61, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at his home.
Jack was born in 1953 in Caracas, Venezuela, the son of Donald Schimmel and the late Jane Schimmel. He graduated from Oakton High School in Oakton, VA, after which he did extensive training to become an electrician. He was a Commercial Master Electrician and Union Journeyman. He was a member of Destiny Church, the Stephens City Moose Club and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was an avid Redskins fan who enjoyed cooking, and loved his three dogs, Wilber, Baxter and Kenzie. The greatest joy in Jack’s life was his grandson, Aiden.
Surviving with his father of Hedgesville, WV is his partner of 28 years, Angela Elizabeth Crisp; his former wife, Pamela Mitchell Baine; a daughter, Amy Crisp Moore (Scott) of Bristol, TN; a son, Jason Schimmel of Horseheads, NY; a grandson, Aiden Moore of Bristol, TN; a sister, Sharon Schimmel Pierce (Joe) of Louisburg, NC and three brothers, Thomas Peter Schimmel (Debby) of Fairfax, VA, Timothy George Schimmel (Key) of Keezletown, VA and James Raymond Schimmel (Sally) of Alexandria, VA.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Destiny Church, 308 Hope Drive, Winchester, VA with Pastor Chris Jarrell officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Destiny Church, 37 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
