JoEllen K. “Jodi” Frye

JoEllen Kay “Jodi” Stiff Frye, 41, of Stephens City, Virginia, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, October 18, 2010, in Winchester Medical Center.

Jodi was born in 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Robert Arlen and Brenda Sue Stiff of Winchester, Virginia. She was a Sales Representative with Cavalier Logistics in Ashburn, Virginia. Jodi was an active board member and officer of the Shenandoah Traffic Club and a member of the Sherando Warrior Club. She was a Cheerleading Coach for Frederick County Parks and Recreation, Silver Stars-All Star Cheerleading, Robert E. Aylor Middle School and Sherando High School.

She married Timothy Scott Frye on October 20, 1990, in Winchester, Virginia at the Historic Opequon Presbyterian Church.

Jodi was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She has been such an inspiration to her family and friends. Her bright smile, vibrant energy and humor would brighten anyone’s day.

Surviving with her parents and her husband is her daughter, Lindsey Elaine Frye, her son, Logan Scott Frye both of Stephens City, Virginia; sisters, Julie Tinsman and husband, Tim and their son, Trae; Jill Potter and husband, Darrell and their sons, Chad and Jacob, all of Winchester, Virginia. She also leaves behind her cherished pets, Allie and Scooter.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, at Braddock Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. James Hewitt officiating. The burial will be at Macedonia Church Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Avenue, Suite B. Winchester, Virginia 22601.

Jodi was a special friend to many at James Wood High School. I had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful, kind, and loving lady and graduating with her in 1987. I remember the enthusiasm and energy she had leading us in cheers. Jodi never judged me and accepted me for who I was and we soon became friends. I only wish I could have captured her spirit and passed that along to others as we would all be better people because of it! I will cherish the conversations we had together.
