Joann M. Cain (Washington), 69 of Stephens City, VA, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Gainesville Health and Rehab.
Joann was born in 1953 in Winchester, VA the daughter of the late Frisco and Ruth Washington. She worked and retired as an adult care worker for Grafton in Winchester. Joann enjoyed Apple Blossom every year and during her youth marched in the Handley High School Band. She most enjoyed family time and spending the holidays with them.
She married Calvin Cain, Sr. on May 23, 1979 and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Joann is survived by daughters, Tara Armistead (Michael) and Carisa Cain; son, Calvin Cain, Jr.; grandchildren, Isaiah, Monáe, Kamryn and Amari; sisters, Faye Washington and Brenda Johnson (Robert); brothers, Chris Washington (Kim) and Steve Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Washington.
A visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1pm with a service to follow at 2pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery, Winchester, VA. Officiating will be Bishop Bobby Hudnall.
