Joan Powell Jobe, 79, of Winchester, VA passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Winchester Medical Center.

Joan was born on February 13, 1942, in Washington D.C. to the late James William and Katherine Cockerill Powell. Joan worked and retired as an AP Manager with Signature Companies in Haymarket, VA. She was a graduate of Herndon High School.

Joan never realized how much she affected the people she met. She gave of herself in time and love to everyone she knew, even when she didn’t have a lot to give. She was happy when those she loved were happy. For her sons, she devoted everything she had. She was a very hard worker, a caring mother and grandmother, and loving friend. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy David Jobe and his wife, Kerrie, of Stephenson, VA and James Tyson “JT” Jobe and his wife, Jessica, of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Aiden Michael Jobe of Stephenson, VA, Devon Skyler Jobe of Culpeper, VA, Melissa Spain of Lynchburg, VA and Dylan Robinson Devereaux of Stephenson, VA; great grandson, Owen Spain; sisters, Sharon Powell Waddell of Herndon, VA and Beverly Powell Inskeep of Huntersville, NC; brother, Jeffrey Ward Powell of Summerville, SC.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James William Powell, Jr.

A private Remembrance for Joan will be announced at a later date.

I enjoyed meeting and working with Joan she was always a hoot to talk with. I also enjoyed meeting her sons Timothy and JT back in the day. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. May you find peace that she is not suffering or in any pain now.

Tim and Jt, I am so sorry for your loss and I wish you were able to have that one more hour or one more day with her. She was everything to you both and she will be greatly missed. I love you both very much.
