Jo Ellyn Rosemann, 74, of Winchester, VA passed away June 11, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.
Jo Ellyn was born April 13, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of the late Joseph Cox and Bonnie Leonard. She was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of Cross Roads Community Church in Winchester and Grace Life Baptist Church in Christiansburg. She taught Sunday school and was a leader in women’s groups throughout her lifetime. Jo Ellyn was an artist extraordinaire who loved to paint, sew, do crafts and she also had a green thumb. She was very particular on how she decorated her home and her artistic view was evident in everything she did.
She married William J. Rosemann on August 24, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
In addition to her husband, Jo Ellyn is also survived by her daughters Chelle Whittington (Dwain), Christene Vaughan (Jeff) and Annette Rosemann; grandchildren Ruby Law (Sam), Jesse Vaughan (Katey), Rose Vaughan (Avery Chunn), Danielle Vaughan, Gretchen Whittington and Bethany Whittington; two brothers in law Don Anspaugh and Walter “Butch” Rosemann Jr. and her two sisters in law Lynn Rosemann (Mark Wiesmeyer) and Sally Owens (Ron).
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister Kay Lynn Anspaugh and a sister in law Sharron Chitwood.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Thursday from 11:00am until her Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Grace Life Baptist Church, 1640 Peppers Ferry Rd NW, Christiansburg, VA 24073. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jo Ellyn may be sent to any Hospice organization of the donor’s choice.
