Jesse Erin Springer, 13, of Winchester, VA died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center.

Jesse was born in 1999 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter Linda Messick of Winchester, VA and Jule Springer of Norfolk, VA . She was a 7^th grade student at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School, and attended the Abundant Life Church. Jesse was an active young woman who had a passion for the great outdoors; she was known for her many artistic abilities. She loved spending time with her friends and family and was an amazing older sister. She will be greatly missed by all who were impacted by her life.

Surviving with her parents, are her step-father, Jonathan Messick, her maternal grandparents, Angela Berkhardt and Milton Voges of Red Bud, Il; her paternal grandfather, John Springer of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Nicholas Springer and Gavin Messick, and a sister, Arabella Messick, all at home.

A private funeral service will be conducted at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Abundant Life Church Youth Grooup, 700 Aylor Road, Stephens City, VA 22655.

I knew Jesse as a good friend in my art class. We worked together in art sometimes. She loved the outdoors and loved talking about hunting. We always made jokes and had fun. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers go to her family right now.

We did not know Jesse but my daughter is a 6th grader at Admiral Byrd. We just wanted to say how sorry we are, our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of loss!

I am shocked and truly heart broken to read of Jesse's passing. May her family know they are in my continual thoughts and prayers.

Your arena large part of my life. We didn't see each other everydat simce we stopped karate but I sure did check up,on you with your Mom! You are loved dearly by Jerry Hunter and myself! Linda, Jules, and Jon: Although I never knew Jesse except in passing, I can see she was a bright, beautiful, happy soul. My deepest condolences to all of you and your families. I hope that you all can find some peace and comfort in beautiful memories during this difficult time.

I was shocked and heartbroken when I learned of Jesse's passing today. She was a very special student. I enjoyed her wit and humor as she went from third to fifth grade. Of all the students I worked with, at Glenwood Elementary,she holds a special place in my heart. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. ~Author Unknown I wanted to let the family know my thoughts and prayer are with them at this time of loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jesse was a wonderful young lady. Teaching her in her early years at Glenwood Elementary was a pleasure. Jesse always came to visit, even after she moved on to higher grades. She loved to talk about her karate and art. She was special, loved, and will be warmly remembered, especially her smile!

My deepest sympathy to all of you. My heart goes out to you.I remember teaching Jesse P.E. when she was very young. Then her and Bobby became best of friends and were attached at the hip. They were never far apart. She was a good student. Always willing to do anything to learn. God Bless all of you.

My heart felt sympathy to all of Jesse's family. I remember that Jesse was such a sweet young lady. I often saw her in the clinic at Glenwood Elementary School.
