Jerry “Andy” Raymond Anderson, 72, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Anderson was born in 1945 in Gainesboro, Virginia, the son of the late Ralph and Kathleen Anderson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, from where he retired, and achieved the rank of First Sergeant. Since 1990 Andy has worked for Mike Edwards at Erectors Plus as a Foreman. He enjoyed hunting, carpentry, his work and was of the Baptist faith.
Andy married Irene (Gugel) Anderson on December 17, 1976 in Germany.
Surviving with his beloved wife of 41 years are daughters, Vickie Rae Apel of Winchester, Virginia, Beth Bentley and husband, Jason of Inwood, West Virginia, Jessica Adelheid Gugel of Phoenix, Arizona; sons, Mark DH Anderson and girlfriend, Megan Boone and Brian George Anderson, all of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Jeremy and Amanda Taylor, Ashley and Brandon Bentley; great grandchildren, Sheldon and Ellie Syquia; sister, Ann Anderson of Stephens City, Virginia; and brothers, Kenny Anderson of Stephenson, Virginia, Bobby Anderson of Front Royal, Virginia, Wayne Anderson of Clear Brook, Virginia and Jim Anderson of Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 26th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a Memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
