Jerry O’Dell Mullins, Sr., 89, of Sterling, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at English Meadows in Stephens City, VA.

Jerry was born in 1934 in Dunham, KY, the son of the late Hansford and Decima (Roberts) Mullins. He served our country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. Jerry retired from Pruitt Corporation as a construction worker, who helped in the construction of the Washington D.C. subway tunnels. He was a humble man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing solitaire and his hand-held poker game. Jerry most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He married Mae Rowe on August 2, 1968, in Alexandria, VA. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2013.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Denise Shaver (Jerry), Tracy Haag (Corey); sons, Jerry “Junebug” O. Mullins, Jr. (Amanda), Gary Mullins; grandchildren, Cassy Foster (Charles), Erika Mullins, Ryan Mullins, Dylan Mullins, Ava Haag and Penny Mullins; great-grandchildren, Caydence Foster, Carter Foster and Cali Foster; sisters, Virginia Baker, Annette “Sissy” Underwood, Teresa Wendle (Bill) and Jennifer Hibbitts (Paul); brothers, Paul Phipps (Mae), Dennis Mullins (Theresa), Michael Mullins (Jeanne) and Randy Mullins (Brenda); good friend, Dennis Thornsbury and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mae; his sister, Mary “Bay” Hamm and his stepmother, Edith Mullins.

The family would like to thank the staff at English Meadows for the loving and gentle care they showed our loving father.

A visitation will be held for Jerry on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 12pm to 2pm with a service at 2pm, all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery on Thursday, December 21,2023 at 1pm.
