Jerry J. Boggs

            Jerry Joseph Boggs, age 76, of Winchester, VA passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the Winchester Medical Center.

            Mr. Boggs was born in 1938, in Renick, West Virginia the son of the late Quilla and Flotie L. Boggs. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Boggs worked in shipping and receiving at several book publication companies. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially those who called him Wagonmaster.       

           He married Shirley Rainsberger on February 19, 1966, in Winchester, Virginia.

            Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Anne Ambrose and husband, Robert of Middletown, VA and his son, K. Michael Cooper and wife, Elizabeth “Buffy” of Winchester, VA; seven grandchildren; Dana (Matthew) Kwolek, Ami (Jennifer) Michael, Staci Michael, Debra (Tony) Michael, Matthew Michael, Jonathon (Rachel) Cooper and Wesley (Stephee) Cooper; eight great grandchildren; his sister, Anna Huff and husband, Robert of Winchester, VA; and one niece Theresa.

            The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

            A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on Thursday at Omps, South Chapel with K. Michael “Mike” Cooper officiating. A reception will follow at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.  Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Frederick County, VA.

            Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Memorial Processing, PO Box 2516, Glen Allen, VA  23058-5216 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
