Jeremiah “Opie” Gibson, 42, of Bealeton, Virginia passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 30, 2018.
Opie was born in 1975 in Waynesboro, Virginia, the son of Richard and Marjorie Gibson; stepson of Teresa Gibson. A kind, generous, hardworking man, Opie was a talented welder who enjoyed building a beautiful home for him and his wife. He took humble gratitude in paying it forward to others by covering someone’s restaurant bill or helping a friend with a project. He was a member of Local Union 602. Opie was loyal to his union family and would go out of his way to help a fellow brother. He was a kindhearted soul who enjoyed spending time with his extended family.
He married Sharon Felder on April 27, 2013 in Augusta County, Virginia.
Along with his mother, father, stepmother, and wife, Opie is survived by his grandmother, Joan Marie Riner of Verona, Virginia and grandfather, Earnest P. Gibson; three nieces; one nephew; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Opie was preceded in death by a grandmother, Beverley Gibson and a grandfather, Ralph Leroy Riner.
