Jeran Carol McClain Blackburn, 65, of Fort Valley, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.

         Ms. Blackburn was born in 1949, in Miami, Florida, the daughter of the late Howard P. and Anne L. McClain.  She was a graduate of Coral Gables High School, Class of 1967 and Florida State, where she received a Master’s Degree.  Ms. Blackburn was a Registered Nurse with Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, Virginia. Jeran was a one of a kind individual with an effervescent personality who touched so many lives in her own special way. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will be forever remembered for her love of gardening, crafts and all wildlife.

In addition to her former husband Mike Blackburn whom she resided with in Fort Valley, Virginia she is survived by two daughters, Danielle Brinegar and husband, Jeff, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Abby Fink of Charleston, South Carolina; sons, William Cunningham and wife, Rachel, of Niceville, Florida, Alexander Fink and wife, Jessalyn, of Charlottesville, Virginia; four grandchildren, AJ, Madison and Tucker  Brinegar and Kit Cunningham, and brother, Jan Howard McClain, of Powells Point, North Carolina.

         A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, from 1:00-3:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
