Jennifer Jane (Johnson) Lewis, affectionately known as “Jenny,”76 of Montross, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her son’s residence in Bumpass, Virginia, on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Born on August 13, 1949, in Winchester, Virginia, Jenny was the daughter of the late Walter Dale Johnson, Sr. and Bettie Jane (McKee) Johnson. She was a graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1967. Jenny spent 30 years in banking, working as a teller and supervisor for F&M Bank and continuing through its merger with BB&T, from which she retired. In addition to serving her community, she found great joy in serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through the local church.
On November 24, 1979, she married Stephen P. Lewis, Sr. in Winchester. They shared a wonderful life together until his passing on January 8, 2017.
Jenny is survived by her son, Stephen “Todd” Lewis (Ashley) of Bumpass, VA; stepson, Richard “Ritchie” Lewis (Lesley) of Charleston, SC; step-grandchildren, Adriana Dudley, Danielle Lewis, Justin Jones; as well as her great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Judd, Johnny Judd, and Liam Dudley.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Stephen, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Stephen “Page” Lewis, Jr.; and three brothers, Harry, Ronald, and Dale Johnson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm with a service to be held the following day, Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 1pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private. Jenny’s son, Todd Lewis will officiate.
