Jeffry B. “Brian” McGreevy

Jeffry “Brian” McGreevy, 55 of Whitacre, Virginia passed on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Winchester, Virginia.

Brian was a gentle, compassionate soul who was loved by all who knew him. His smile and laugh were contagious, his spirit wild and free. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who brought out the best in everyone.

Brian was born in Cumberland, Maryland on October 4, 1955. He was the son of Margaret Ann McGreevy Metz of Arvada, Colorado and the late Joseph William McGreevy. He graduated from Beall High School in Frostburg, Maryland.

He married Cynthia Lynne Lewis on June 11, 1983, in Frostburg, Maryland.

Surviving with his wife, Cindi are four children; Jamie Sue McGreevy of Midland, MD, Breanna Nicole McGreevy, Nicholas Brian McGreevy and Joel Christian McGreevy all of Whitacre, VA. Sisters – Marsha McKenzie and husband Dick of Grantsville, MD, Christine Fazenbaker and husband Randy of Winchester, VA. Brothers – Joseph McGreevy and wife Anna of Front Royal, VA, Randy McGreevy and significant other Diane of Toms River, NJ and numerous very special nieces and nephews. Brian will be especially remembered by his niece Amy Shay Moreau and husband Ryan of Cumberland, RI and special friends Patrick Harper and wife Jarmila of Walkersville, MD.

At Brian’s request, there will be no visitation. Instead, we will be celebrating Brian’s life on Sunday May 1, 2011 beginning at 2 PM, at the Lake Holiday Clubhouse in Cross Junction, VA. All friends and family are welcome.

All those attending must stop at the guard house at the entrance to Lake Holiday. Give the guard the McGreevy name, and they will give you directions to the Club House.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bank of Clarke County, 1460 N. Frederick Pike Winchester, VA 22603, in the name of the Memorial Fund for the benefit of the McGreevy family.
