Jeanette L. Whitlock

Jeanette Love Whitlock, 90, of Winchester, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, in Golden Living Center, Berryville, Virginia.

Mrs. Whitlock was born in 1921, in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Della Elizabeth Brewer.

She was a hairdresser for over 40 years and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Her husband, William R. Whitlock, preceded her in death in 1955.

Surviving are two nieces, Linda Bursey of Stephens City, Cindy Tyson of Winchester, and a nephew Boyd Brewer, Jr. of Winchester. She is also survived by a special cousin, Patsy Allamong of Winchester, who from infancy spent her early childhood with Jeanette and her parents.

Mrs. Whitlock is preceded in death by two sisters, Gertie Coffey and Ethel Curl and three brothers, Howard, Boyd and James Brewer.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Sonya L. Williams-Giersch officiating. Interment will be in Winchester National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darrin Bursey, Chad Tyson, Christopher Tyson, Stephen Allamong and Jay Presgraves.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel
