Jean Henderson Holmes
Jean Henderson Holmes, 70, of Berryville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Holmes was born in 1940 in Saltville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy D. and Mae Coe Henderson. She was a member of Church of God, Manassas, Virginia.
Her husband, Billy Chesterfield Holmes, whom she married July 27, 1956 in Saltville, Virginia, preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include five daughters, one son, and two son-in-laws, Debra McDonald and Shirley and Jon McDonald, all of Front Royal, Pamela Shreve, Billy “Rusty” Holmes, and Kimberly and Tim Hill, all of Winchester, and Melanie Holmes of Stephens City; seventeen grandchildren, Amy Gatling, Andy McDonald, Jay Staats, Katrina Staats, Joshua Staats, Candace Staats, Missy Pratt, Rusty Holmes, Jr., Tiffany Holmes, Farrah Holmes, Charity McDonald, Jeff McDonald, Kayla Gutilla, Amber Holmes, Brittany Lofthouse, Jake McInturff, and Faith Coffelt; eight great grandchildren, Monica Staats, Madison Staats, Desiree Bushur, Oryan Bushur, Daytona Bushur, Hailey Pratt, John Tyler Pratt, and Jayden Holmes; and two sisters, Helen Thomas and Irene Guerrant, both of Danville, Virginia. Three sisters, Mildred Dancy, Frances Dalton, and Evelyn Taylor; and a brother, Roy B. Henderson, all preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Jeff McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
