Jason Wade Jones, 50, of Middletown, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.

Jason was born in 1973 in Front Royal, VA, the son of Thomas and Patsy Jones. He was a graduate of Warren County High School and worked as an estimator for Feathers and Sons Roofing and Gregory’s Roofing. Jason enjoyed racing Go-Karts up and down the east coast and was a member of the PDKA (Pa Dirt Karting Association). He took pride in sponsoring Codey Breeden Racing and Zac Smith Kart Racing. Jason enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially rabbit hunting. He also loved coaching softball and watching the Cincinnati Bengals.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, whom he married on June 18, 1994; his daughters, Ashlynn Giroux (Michel) and Skylar Jones; grandchildren, Branson, Laken, Austin and Riley and his brother, Mathew “Brent” Jones.

A visitation will be held for Jason on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1pm, all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Susan Gum Catlett.

At Jason’s request, everyone is encouraged to wear any sports or racing attire.

The pallbearers will be Jeremy Hahn, Larry Starnes, Jr., Mike Giroux, Brent Jones, Tommy Jones and Kevin Ahalp.
