Mrs. Jane C. Carson, age 49, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, December 9, 2011, at her home.

Jane was born in 1962 in Springfield, VA, the daughter of Roy W. and Marjorie Korth. She was a nurse at the Wound Care Center at WMC, and formerly was a nurse with Blue Ridge Hospice and Home Health Care. Jane was a graduate of Medical College of Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Later she earned the CWOCN. Her passion for nursing was a big part of her life. Jane was a member of Burnt Factory United Methodist Church and had previously been involved in youth leadership in other churches. Her tremendous faith in God was and continues to be an inspiration to all.

She married Richard L. Carson on April 12, 1986.

Surviving with her husband and parents are two children: Rachel A. Carson of Asheville, NC; Glen H. Carson of Morgantown, WV; two step children: Kim A. Reynolds of King George, VA; and Kelly D. Keel of Huntsville, AL; and two brothers: Roy Korth of Tulsa, OK and Ron Korth of Stafford, VA. Jane will always be remembered for her love of family and friends and her incredible hospitality.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Steve Melester officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Jane was my clinical preceptor in wound care for my senior semester of nursing school 2008. She displayed God's love, light and joy in everything she did and in each area of wound care she taught me. Mrs. Jane remembered my graduation day and attended. I will never forget the big smile and hug she gave me after the pinning ceremony. I was truly saddened to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
