Jamie A. “Andy” Simkhovitch
Jamie Andrew “Andy” Simkhovitch, 55, of Bloomery, West Virginia, died Monday March 21, 2016, at his home.
Andy was born August 21, 1960, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the son of the late Helen Linaburg Wilkins and Steve Simkhovitch. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1978. Andy was employed as an auto body technician with Dawe’s Garage in Stephens City, Virginia. He had been a body shop tech for 41 years, and was ASE certified. He was a prior member of the Strasburg Moose. He was an avid Nascar fan, cheering on Dale Jr. and the Cowboys during football season.
Surviving is his daughter, Samantha Kuykendall, husband Robbie, and his grandchildren Teslyn, Damian, and Kaedyn of Bloomery, West Virginia; sisters Robyn Sager, husband Nelson, and Leanne Wilkins both of Winchester; and brothers Jimmy Wilkins, wife Susan, and Mark Wilkins, wife Michelle, both of Winchester. He also leaves behind numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. He will be missed by his companion, his dog Mackie.
His daughter Amanda Roe, her husband Mark, and two grandsons, Caleb and Tyler Roe; Stepfather Grant Wilkins Sr, and brother, Mike Simkhovitch all preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, prior to the service, from 6:00-7:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm with Mr. David A. Owings officiating. Interment will be private.
