James O. Lee, Jr.
Mr. James Orville Lee, Jr., age 89, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Lee was born in 1923, in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late J. Orville and Mary Lee. He was a biologist with the Fish and Wildlife Service and the U. S. Dept of Agriculture for 40 years, retiring in 1990. Mr. Lee received his Bachelors Degree from Muskingum College, a Masters Degree from Kent State, and completed all the coursework for a PhD from Ohio State University. He served our country as a Seaman with the U.S. Coast Guard for three years during World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He married Jane Daugherty on April 2, 1949, in DuBois, Pennsylvania.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Rebecca Lee of Round Hill, Virginia, Deborah Lee and Kathryn Lee Crosby, both of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren; three great grandchild. Four brothers, Robert E. Lee, Edward M. Lee, John P. Lee and William Lee, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:30 on April 13, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
