I had the pleasure of teaching history alongside Mr. Culver for many years at South Middle School. He truly loved teaching history and loved his students. I will always remember his big personality and big laugh. He was a great man and will be truly missed.
Troy Heck left a message on December 5, 2024:
Jim was one of my mentors. He and I co-taught together for many years. Jim was a superb educator, his style of teaching made history fun and interesting. He told stories to the children and it reminded me of how educators taught in the past with the students sitting around the teacher listening as the story was told. I learned a great deal from Jim over the years and will carry his lessons with me forever. Jim was my friend and I will miss him.

Deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers to the family of friends of Mr. Culver. Mr. Culver was my daughter's teacher at South Middle in Martinsburg and was her most favorite teacher. She learned so much from him and she always spoke so highly of him, they way he taught really connected with his students. Sorry again for your loss, but know he left a huge impression on so many!
