James Edward Swisher, 64 of White Post, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at his home.
Jim was born in 1960 in Winchester, VA, the son of Rozella Mae Pangle of Winchester, VA, and the late Rollin Edward Swisher. He was semi-retired as owner of Swisher’s Seamless Guttering. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and part of two hunt clubs: Millbrook Hunt Club in WV and Shade’s Hunt Club in VA. He was also a part of Rodney Franklin Racing, Ritter Racing, Brandon Lowery Racing and Mike Bennett Racing. Jim enjoyed hunting and car racing and spending time with his buddies in his garage. He loved and adored all his friends as they were special to him, and they were like family. Jim was always there for his friends and would do anything for them. He was a father figure to his niece and nephews: Michael, Sheryl, & Steven, and a father figure to other special kids in his life.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Deborah “Debbie” McDonald (Steve) of Clearville, PA, Linda St. Pierre (Patrick) of Palm Desert, CA; nieces and nephews, Michael McDonald of Clearville, PA, Sheryl Corbin of Waco, TX, Steven McDonald of Clearville, PA, Patrick St. Pierre (Nicole) of Cleveland, OH, Matthew St. Pierre (Ashley) of Fullerton, CA, Danielle Simpson (Luke) of Bend, OR, Taylor Nanney (Jacob) of San Diego, CA, Austin Corbin of Richmond, VA, Kamdyn Corbin of Myrtle Beach, SC and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to Omps Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
A visitation will be held for Jim on Monday, February 24 from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
