As i watch the funeral service for Jimmy, I have so many memories from our days growing up in Merrick. The latest memories I have are the last two weddings for Jim's nephew, Thomas, and niece, Jessica. Jimmy was a lightning rod for silliness and laughter and made the celebration so much greater. In the midst of this grief, I can only think of Jimmy with his broad smile and his devilish ways! I know heaven will be more lively and fun with St. James! Jimmy, rest now in the embrace of God and may God hold you in the palm of his hand until we all meet again! Love and Prayers to Ellen and the whole Pearce family.

Donald Tice left a message on March 16, 2025:
My brother-in-law Jim was such a special person, the center of our family’s world and the ‘glue’ that held it all together, he will be sorely missed. He had a lot more life to live and lot more love to give, but he maximized his time on earth with all he did, all he accomplished and everyone he touched and everyone he helped. Heaven just received a great gift with Jim, he’ll be sure to have everyone laughing in eternal peace.

Jimmy was the best big brother. I have so many fun memories of growing up with him. I feel so blessed to have had him as my brother and he will always live on in my heart. I pray for Ellen and his girls and their families, especially the grandchildren whom Jimmy loved to the fullest. I love hearing the stories of how Jimmy touched people's lives and how laughter seems to always be involved. Try to keep laughing, it is the best medicine, and it is what Jimmy would want us to do. RIP Jimmy, I love you, until we meet again!

I first met Jim in 1999 when I started the Forensic Nursing Program at Winchester Medical. Jim was so supportive and welcoming. How lucky we were to have moved into Tavistock in 2003 and realized Jim's home backed up to ours. We will miss your laughter and positive spirit.

I was lucky enough to make eye contact with Jim on the deck of a carnival cruise ship selling from Baltimore to Bermuda. He had that look of someone I thought I knew, but I did not know him, but by the end of the week I certainly did. During our brief conversation, the first time I met him, I found out he was a retired police officer, and so was I. It seemed like every day, no matter where I was I would look up and see his smiling face waving to me. We became good friends that week and also shared our Facebook, in fact, I believe Jim reached out to me first. I was so surprised when I saw Jim‘s picture popped up on my Facebook post with this sad news. Rest in peace, my good friend.

I worked with Jimmy for many years, and we shared an office in the County Executive bldg. Jimmy made working for government bearable. He always had a smile, an ear, and a shoulder if you needed. He was a wonderful man and friend, and he will be missed.

I've known Jim for 25 years, and if there's one thing I'll always remember, it's his laugh—pure, full, and booming, straight from the heart. No matter how small or silly the joke, we’d end up in tears, caught in a moment of joy that felt endless. That’s who Jim was—someone who found light in the simplest things and shared it freely. His laughter wasn’t just a sound; it was a feeling, a reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed. That’s how I will always remember you, my friend—in laughter, in joy, and in the moments that made life brighter just because you were in them.
