James E Murphy IV (Jimmy) was born on May 1, 1970, in Falls Church, VA and went to be with our lord and savior on September 28, 2024, he was 54.
Jimmy is survived by his mother Christine Murphy, paternal grandmother Elaine, his previous wife Ginger of 30 years, two daughters, Tiffani Louise Murphy-Babral (David) and Gabrielle Christine Murphy Solenberger (Jeff). Five grandchildren: Ryan James, Dominic Michael, Sutton Samuel, Layla Louise Marie and Christian Thomas, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. All whom he adored. He is preceded in death by his father, James E Murphy the III, his paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother and grandfather.
Jimmy attended George Marshall high school and graduated in 1989. In high school he played football and was a wrestler. While in high school he worked with his dad at Metro Recycling as a manager until 1996. He was a low boy driver and equipment operator for VA Paving in Sterling, VA for more than 10 years. Later in life he started his own commercial and residential cleaning company. As a teenager Jimmy had a passion for riding his dirt bike and competed many times at local dirt tracks. His true passion was to go fishing especially at OBX, and it was nothing for him to drive to OBX for a weekend to go fishing spur of the moment and sleep in his truck. He always carried a fishing pole in his truck in case he saw a good spot to pull over and fish, any lake or body of water was never off limits. He also had a great love of light houses and their dog Sheldon Cooper.
Jimmy became a peepaw at the age of 40, and it was probably the best title he ever had. His grandchildren adored him and will miss him greatly. If you knew Jimmy, you knew he was always a kid at heart. He never missed an opportunity to play a joke on someone or jump out of a closet to scare you.
His sudden loss will be felt deeply by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held for Jimmy on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 4pm with a service to follow at 5pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
